Foreign Minister Dr.Zalmai Rassoul meets Turkish Ambassador to Kabul

 Foreign Minister Dr.Zalmai Rassoul today met Turkish Ambassador to Kabul, Mr. Basat Ozturk. The two sides discussed Afghanistan-Turkish bilateral cooperation, the fight against terrorism and Afghanistan’s   reconstruction and development. Foreign Minister Zalmai Rassoul thanked the Turkish Ambassador for Turkey’s contribution and assistance to Afghanistan over the past years. Ambassador Ozturk also reaffirmed his government’s long-term commitment to Afghanistan and, in this regard, briefed Foreign Minister Zalmai Rassoul of preparations underway by his government to host two up-coming conferences on Afghanistan next week in Turkey.  The fourth Afghanistan-Pakistan-Turkey trilateral has been scheduled to be held on the 25th of January, followed by a regional conference on Afghanistan the following day.  Both sides stressed the importance of the successful outcome of both gatherings as essential for achieving lasting stability and prosperity in Afghanistan.
